It’s party season Here are a few little tips to keep on track….
If you’re going out for dinner have a bowl of no point soup or some fruit about an hour before you go out, won’t fill you too much but will keep you a little bit satisfied & prevent you from attacking the bread basket before dinner.
If you’re drinking alcohol, drink something like Vodka, soda water & lime as vodka is very low in calories. Only 3 pro points in a measure. Make every second drink a glass of water because that way you fill up faster, drink less alcohol & prevent from getting dehydrated
When choosing what to eat from the menu pick any sauces that are tomato based but stay away from carbonaras. If you’re going for a burger ask for it without the bun and with a side salad & baked potato instead of chips. Ask for dressings, sauces, butter or sour cream on the side, instead of on the dish itself. If you’re having dessert ask for fresh fruit & yogurt or frozen yogurt. Pavlova is also a good option as the cream is the only thing that would be high in pro points.

Got my Gold card tonight So now I’m officially a Weight Watchers Gold member! Amazing how a plastic card can make me so happy And to make my day even more I lost another 2lbs so now I’m down 3 stone 11lbs & pretty much the lightest I’ve ever been in my adult life. Feels good Going shopping & trying on clothes & actually enjoying it is a brilliant feeling. Not just going in & out of shops hating everything I try on & going home with nothing feeling depressed. To celebrate we are going to Dublin on Sunday and staying over night & making a trip to Ikea for some help with Santas presents Can’t wait, might hit the shops in Dublin if the wallet will allow!
Lost a whole half a pound tonight! Basically lost what I put on last week! Weighing in at 10 stone 13.5lbs so clinging on to the tens for dear life even though it’s only a tiny half a pound it’s so much nicer seeing 10 something on the scales than 11! Easily pleased
This maintenance business is harder than I thought! It’ll take me a while to find a happy medium and for my weight to level out I suppose & for my body (& brain) to catch up! For the most part I’m still counting points during the week but am being a bit more relaxed at the weekends. Eventually (I hope) I’ll stop the pointing because I can’t live like that forever
Gold card next week, yay!
So weighed in today & gained half a pound. Considering the weekend I had I’m happy with that and still 1lb under goal. Another two weeks & I’ll get my Gold card
So, tonight I went for a run. I don’t do running generally. There is some running in Bootcamp that I do but it’s not continuous running… I was at home and had just sat on the couch and thought I’d settle down for the evening and watch tv & probably eat stuff I shouldn’t but instead I decided there & then that I was going to get up off my ass, get ready & get out. I felt so much better after it even if I did only last 2 miles because I got a really annoying stitch that wouldn’t go away. I’m not going to be running a marathon any day soon but I have to start somewhere & Rome wasn’t built in a day
This is yummy for these cold winter days & zero points
Low calorie spray oil
1 onion, peeled & diced
1 medium butternut squash, peeled, deseeded & cut into chunks
1 small potato, peeled & quartered
2 garlic cloves, peeled & crushed
Salt & freshly ground black pepper
900mls of vegetable stock
A few thyme sprigs to serve (I didn’t use as I didn’t have any)
Spray a large pot with low cal spray oil & place over a low heat. Add the onion & cook for 1-2 minutes
Add the butternut squash & potato & cook for 2 minutes over a medium heat. Add the garlic & season to taste. Pour in the stock & simmer for 25 minutes.
Using a hand blender or good processor blend until smooth
Lunch today is mixed salad, ham, boiled egg & couscous, all for 5 points and actually quite filling. And for after lunch with my tea a Weight Watchers Caramel cake bar for 2 points yum. Back on track after the weekend
Must not give in! Had way too many nice things this weekend. When I’m like this and am really craving something sweet I brush my teeth… The minty taste makes me not want something anymore! Just brushed them now, wonder how long it’ll keep my sweet craving away!
Well we had a good friends wedding on Friday & I’m feeling the effects now of over indulgence on food & alcohol. Need a detox Back on the wagon today, think I’ll go for a walk to shake off the cobwebs. Good thing I’m not at weddings every weekend! My liver & stomach wouldn’t thank me!
Lost half a pound Very happy and relieved with that especially after the weekend I had! Had a few days to reign it in though, the joy of Thursday weigh ins. Only another 3 weeks before I get my Gold card
